As a new employee at SFU, we would like to make your start as interesting as possible. Under the quick links you have direct access to essential tools. For administrative matters, the HR download area offers all the necessary forms. You will also receive support from our service centres, including IT Support, Library and Facility Management. For international perspectives, you can take advantage of the employee mobility programmes offered by the International Office and ERASMUS.

Onboarding
How do you come on board? Your manager and your colleagues are challenged: With targeted preparation and support during the induction period, they can make your start at SFU much easier. The checklist for onboarding offers valuable recommendations: Onboarding checklist (pdf, password-protected).
Language courses
For international colleagues with insufficient knowledge of German, we recommend using the language portal. Here you will find free online courses from the ÖIF for learning German. The ÖIF online courses take place daily from Monday to Saturday.

Welcome@SFU
Once a semester we organise a welcome event for new employees.
They learn interesting facts about SFU, get to know our vision, strategies and values and also have the opportunity to exchange ideas and get in touch with contact persons from the service and organisational units.
The next Welcome Event is expected to take place at the end of September 2025. The invitation will be sent out shortly before the event date.
