In the context of an international collaboration, 178 organisations from 37 countries, have joined forces with the objective of advancing research into rare diseases.
The overarching objective is to promote the health and well-being of 30 million people in Europe who are affected by rare diseases. This will be achieved by establishing Europe as a global leader in the research and innovation of rare diseases, as well as by providing tangible health benefits for patients with rare diseases through improved prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
The integration of research activities in rare diseases represents a key objective in making Europe a globally leading location for research and innovation in rare diseases.
