In the course of the procedure for the institutional reaccreditation of Sigmund Freud University, the Faculty of Psychology acquired the right to conduct habilitation procedures within its sphere of activity.
In the German-speaking world, the habilitation serves as proof of qualification for independent research and teaching in a specific subject area and thus as a formal qualification for a university professorship.
By obtaining the right to habilitate, the successful implementation of a PhD programme, the development of a corresponding research environment and the international visibility of the research achievements of the Faculty of Psychology were demonstrated.
