Honouring a Pioneer: Alfred Pritz Commemorated with New Bust at SFU
Another highlight of our anniversary year was recently unveiled in SFU’s main building at Freudplatz 1. In recognition of his distinguished service at the helm of the World Council for Psychotherapy (WCP), board members from across all continents have presented a bust of founding rector Alfred Pritz. Alongside his three decades as President of the WCP, the accompanying stele also marks his twenty years as rector of the SFU, paying tribute to the productive partnership between the two leading institutions in psychotherapy science.
The formal unveiling took place in the auditorium at Freudplatz 1, attended by co-founders Heinz Laubreuter and Jutta Fiegl, as well as the newly appointed deans of the Faculties of Psychotherapy Science and Law, Andrea Jesser and Elke Heinrich-Pendl respectively. In her commendatory address, Maria Gren, Secretary General of the WCP, highlighted Professor Pritz’s pioneering contributions not only to the World Council, but also to the academic evolution of psychotherapy itself.
