14 April 2023 | Teach-Out-Plan for the Master Programme Human Medicine approved
On April 14, 2023, the Agency for Quality Assurance and Accreditation Austria approved the teach-out plan for all current years of the Master’s programme in Human Medicine.  All students in this programme can therefore continue and complete their studies as planned; the graduation of future physicians is secured.

General information:

In 2020, Sigmund Freud Private University submitted the application for re-accreditation required by law to the competent authority, the Agency for Quality Assurance and Accreditation Austria (AQ): all study programmes except the Master’s programme in Human Medicine have now been re-accredited. The points raised by the AQ against a re-accreditation of this Master’s programme were already refuted by the SFU management in a statement before the decision was made. Since this was unfortunately ignored by the AQ, our next step will be to fight the decision at the Federal Administrative Court. At the same time, we will reapply for accreditation. Since the SFU will be able to fulfil all requirements in the near future, we are relaxed about both procedures.

In the meantime, an appeal against AQ Austria’s decision has been filed with the Federal Administrative Court. This appeal is based, among other things, on two expert opinions from Germany, which independently come to the conclusion that the withdrawal of accreditation is not objectively justified. We will inform you here as soon as there is news from these proceedings.
