Sigmund Freud Private University (SFU) is consolidating its scientific endeavours for a sustainable future through the launch of its new sustainability research cluster. The initiative aims to foster interdisciplinary approaches and develop innovative solutions to address the current challenges in the field of sustainability.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration for Sustainable Solutions

The cluster brings together SFU researchers working across various sustainability-related disciplines to create valuable synergies through collaboration. A particular emphasis is placed on social science perspectives, enabling a deeper understanding of the complex interactions between society, the economy, and the environment. The cluster also explores the behaviours and decision-making processes in everyday life that influence sustainable development. This research forms the basis for educational initiatives and practical recommendations. Additionally, social, economic, and cultural factors are examined to identify ways to instigate meaningful, long-term change.

Paths to a Sustainable Future

The cluster will receive start-up funding from SFU until September 2025. Its current focus is on identifying thematic connections to develop targeted research projects that make a tangible contribution to sustainable development.

In this way, we want to establish SFU as a leading institution in the field of sustainability research in the Austrian research landscape. We look forward to the exciting research projects and collaborations that lie ahead!
