Dr. Lidija Bašič Jančar completed her postgraduate studies in Marriage and Family Therapy at the Faculty of Theology, University of Ljubljana, and in 2023 she also obtained her doctorate there on the topic: A relational perspective on persistence in long-term relationships. She is also a supervisor and an independent consultant in the field of social welfare and a community treatment coordinator.
In Domžale, she heads the Study and Research Center for the Family, where she is responsible for two social welfare programs: ""No Child Left Behind""—immediate psychosocial assistance for children and adolescents from vulnerable families—and the School for the Family. She also runs a private psychotherapy practice in Domžale. In 2023, she took over as president of the Association of Social Workers of Slovenia, where she supports and helps social workers to recognize their role and the role of social work in society and the community. In February 2024, she will take on the role of member of the professional council at the Youth Center in Domžale. In 2019, she published the book Popolna ljubezen: navezanost v družini, partnerstvo in odnosi (Perfect Love: Attachment in the Family, Partnership, and Relationships). Her research interests include attachment, contact, family, partnership, and supervision.
She teaches Ethics at the Faculty of Psychotherapeutic Science at SFU in Ljubljana.
