Resume

Reinhold Görling studied social sciences, social psychology, German literature and philosophy. In 1995 he qualified as professor in comparative literature. From 2002 to 2018 he was professor of media and cultural studies at the University Düsseldorf. He taught as guest professor at the University Innsbruck, the University of California Irvine (comparative literature) and the University Vienna (film studies). His current focus of research is situated in the intersection of psychoanalysis, aesthetics, film studies, theories of subjectivity, perception and media ecology.
