Jakob Fortunat Stagl, born 1971 in Salzburg, doctorate 2001 in Freiburg i. Br., habilitation 2007 in Bonn, since 2016 professor of methodology and Roman law at the Universidad de Chile, Santiago. The main research interests of Prof. Stagl are property law in its connections to the law of obligations and the law of succession. He also publishes on Roman private law and questions of methodology. In 2005, his dissertation on the interpretation of wills was awarded the Kurt Wagner Prize, and his habilitation thesis on the privileging of dowries received the Premio Francesco Salerno in 2010.
