The second workshop organised as part of Learning for Peace, an international cooperation project founded by Erasmus+, took place in Bratislava, on the 14th of September 2023 at the Slovak National Museum. This new inspiring research project is led by Dr. Erzsebet Fanni Toth at SFU’s Faculty of Psychotherapy Science.

Researchers, university professors, teachers and educators from prominent institutions of Austria, Hungary and Slovakia were this time joined by secondary school and university students to talk about the challenges, possibilities and opportunities of using Oral History research and narrations of trauma in education. The discussions, carried out in English, Hungarian and Slovak, touched upon topics such as life after trauma, resilience, successful coping strategies and the lessons to be learnt from them. Students participating in the workshop played a pivotal role in coming up with innovative hands-on ideas, practical advice, as well as learning objectives and practical teaching methods for different age groups, ranging from very young children to university students.

Various Hungarian-speaking Slovak media reported about the event which will be followed up by a detailed report containing tangible recommendations for policy and practice.
