Dear colleagues, partners and students,

2017 was an exciting and successful year for the Sigmund Freud University. One out of many highlights was launching the construction of the medical faculty building. The most impressive SFU news 2017, however, is a simple number that is filling us with great joy: by the end of the year, more than 4,800 students from over 80 nations are studying at SFU! This shows that our university provides an academic home for an increasing number of students looking for – and finding – a university with quality and soul.

We enter 2018 with high expectations: the new building will be finished and ready to use in the winter semester 2018/19. A very special thank you to all colleagues, partners and of course our students who are making our success possible. It’s the season of gratitude, and I would like to use this opportunity to thank all of you on behalf of the Rectorate. Our common goal is to further develop the SFU, and I am looking forward to successfully master all upcoming challenges in 2018 together with you!

On behalf of the University Management we wish you and your family a happy holiday season filled with peace and joy. May health and prosperity be yours throughout the new year.

Prof. A. Pritz, Rector
on behalf of the Rectorate
