Univ.-Prof. Dr. Otto C. Burghuber is head of the 1st Internal Lung Department of the Otto Wagner Hospital in Vienna, a "Full
Medical Training Centre" for lung diseases. He is also head of the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for COPD and Pneumological
Epidemiology. He has a habilitation in internal medicine and pneumology and has published more than 150 scientific papers
in peer reviewed journals. His clinical and scientific focus is on the diagnosis and treatment of COPD and its predominantly
cardiovascular comorbidities. In addition, he has established a centre of excellence for "lung cancer" at his department in recent
years.
