Sonia Kaftan is a psychotherapist (cognitive behavioral therapy) and runs a practice with two colleagues in Berlin Mitte. She studied psychology at the Humboldt University in Berlin and at the Université de Bordeaux, and completed her training as a psychotherapist at the Psychologische Hochschule Berlin (PHB). Her diploma thesis addressed the altered risk perception of people with borderline personality disorder. As a lecturer at the SFU, she holds teaching positions in clinical psychology as well as in the training of future psychotherapists. She has also participated in advanced training in schema therapy, hypnotherapy, and couples counseling, among others.
