Prof. Dr. Gerhard Kubik, cultural anthropologist; Ph. D. 1971 University of Vienna with a 4-volume dissertation on mukanda boys’ initiation in Angola. Habilitation in 1980. Field research in Africa and the Americas on oral literature, music/dance, secret societies and the psychology of culture contact. Major discoveries in auditory psychology (auditory illusion effect etc.) and in ethnopsychoanalytic studies within two African languages: Luchazi (Angola, Zambia) and Chichewa (Malawi). Publications: some 280 articles in scientific journals and several books, e.g. Extensions of African Cultures in Brazil, New York: Diasporic Africa Press 2016.
