graduated in law, followed by training and appointment as a judge in Linz. After serving in the Federal Ministry of Justice, he became a judge at the District Court for Commercial Matters and the Commercial Court of Vienna. Since 2001, Dr. Thoma has been a judge at the Administrative Court. For years he has been active in the training and further education of judges and civil servants in the judiciary and at the Federal Academy of Administration as well as of judicial experts. He has also been involved in several EU twinning projects in Eastern and South-Eastern Europe and in training events for judges at the European University (Florence).
