Climate change is a growing global challenge. Muslim communities have reacted to this and initiated projects for more environmental awareness; research investigates issues of climate change that affect Muslims in different contexts.
In order to promote these developments and to enable synergies, the Interdisciplinary Research Center Islam and Muslims in Europe at Sigmund Freud Private University initiated an annual meeting in 2021 to present current projects and organizations and to discuss research desiderata. The aim is to promote the exchange of ideas, to publicize new initiatives as well as possible cooperations in scientific projects. The presentations will be summarized in a report (German & English).
Addressed are persons from science, the education of young learners, adolescents and adults, religious education, mosque communities, (environmental) organizations and civil society, as well as interested persons from the general public.
