Resume
Thomas Gruenberger is currently head of the 1st surgical department at KH Rudolfstiftung, 1030 Vienna.
He obtained his doctorate from the Medical University of Vienna in 1991 and completed his surgical training at the 1st Department of Surgery at the same university. After obtaining his specialist diploma, he specialised in liver/biliary tract and pancreatic surgery during an HPB fellowship in Australia, where he also held the position of deputy clinic director. After returning to Vienna, he habilitated with the topic of metastatic surgery. He published more than 150 scientific papers and over 200 other texts in the field of HPB surgery. He attained senior positions in ASSO and
ESSO.
