The SFU Library provides students and academic staff with a range of licensed databases to support teaching and study activities.

The e-resources can be accessed via bib.sfu.ac.at using the individual A5 or Moodle login data. The prerequisite for this is a registration with Academy Five; if you do not yet have your access data, please contact the SFU IT team (it@sfu.ac.at).

Beck-online

Content: Beck-online contains a large variety of commentaries, manuals, journals, case law and legal texts from Germany, as well as forms and sample contracts. The Beck-Online Grosskommentar (BeckOGK) also contains up-to-date and comprehensive commentaries on all provisions of the German Civil Code (BGB).

PsycArticles

Content: PsycArticles contains more than 153,000 articles from over 80 journals in the field of psychology, published by the American Psychological Association (APA) and the Education Publishing Foundation (EPF) as well as the Canadian Psychology Association and the Hogrefe Publishing Group. It covers the period from 1894 to the present day.

PsycINFO

Content: PsycInfo is a database for abstracts of scientific articles, books, book chapters and dissertations. It is the most comprehensive resource for peer-reviewed scientific literature in the fields of behavioral and social sciences and mental health, as well as related fields such as neuroscience, nursing, law and education.

PSYINDEX

Content: PSYINDEX is a comprehensive bibliographic database for psychological literature. The database also contains detailed descriptions and information on psychological and pedagogical test procedures used in German-speaking countries.

Content: Created by the United States National Library of Medicine, MEDLINE is a bibliographic database containing citations and abstracts for biomedical and health journals and provides in-depth medical information on general medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine and health care systems.

Content: The ERIC (Education Resource Information Center) database contains over 1,9 million records and provides access to both bibliographic data and full texts in journals in the field of education and teaching.

Content: The HeinOnline International Core package includes approximately 3,000 legal and law-related journals published in more than 60 different countries, as well as legal yearbooks and international government publications. Content: The Manz law database offers access to significant legal journals, collections of rulings, commentaries and handbooks from renowned Austrian publishers.

Psychoanalytic Electronic Publishing (PEP-Web)

PEP-Web offers access to 83 full-text journals with bibliographical references to external sources, psychoanalytic glossaries and dictionaries and Sigmund Freud’s texts (with concordance on the collected works). Furthermore, 121 books by classic authors such as Bion, Bowlby, Klein, Meltzer, Winnicott and numerous others are included.

Content: The SpringerLink portal provides access to over 10 million interdisciplinary scientific documents from the disciplines of technology, medicine, economics, humanities and social sciences. Statista

Content: The Statista portal bundles statistical data on over 80,000 topics from more than 22,500 sources. In addition to over 1 million statistics, the database also offers trends from 170 industries in up to 150 countries, a company database and infographics on current topics.

Taylor & Francis

Content: The SSH (Social Science & Humanities) Library covers more than 1470 journals and allows direct access to the full text of articles (from 1997 onwards) from the publishers Taylor & Francis, Routledge and Psychology Press.

Thieme

Content: The following two journals from Thieme are licensed for the library: „Psychotherapie im Dialog – PiD“ and „Psychotherapie – Psychosomatik – Medizinische Psychologie (PPmP)“.
PiD is a multidisciplinary journal for psychotherapists. Each issue of PiD highlights a key topic from the perspective of different schools of therapy.
PPmP covers research in the fields of psychotherapy, psychosomatics and medical psychology in the German-speaking area.

Content: Verlag Österreich covers the entire range of the publisher’s legal literature. Hundreds of current book titles and more than 20 journals from the fields of public, civil, corporate and criminal law are available online. Legal journals from Franz Steiner Verlag, Berliner Wissenschaftsverlag, NWV and Bankwissenschaftlichen Verlag are also available.
